Force Select Goalie Alex Larson (2014) named by ESPNHS Lacrosse as West Region Player of the Week.
West
Alex Larson, Soph., Chaparrel (Scottsdale, Ariz.), goalie
The sophomore southpaw was a stone wall in net for the Firebirds in their huge 6-3 win against Coppell (Texas). Larson was dominant, posting 20 saves, including an acrobatic stop while on his back to propel his squad to a win against last year’s Texas state champion. With performances like Larson’s, the Firebirds should soar this year in the desert.

| 2012 Summer League General Session Schedule | | |
posted 01/16/2012
Force Lacrosse Club 2012 Summer League Schedule
We have confirmed Salt River Fields in Scottsdale for our 2012 Summer League program.
Our summer 2012 sessions will run for six consecutive weeks starting on Monday 5/21 and ending on Thursday 6/28.
The overall goal of Force Lacrosse Club continues to be the development of the broadest possible number of lacrosse players. For 2012 we are also highly focused on expanding participation levels in our youth age groups. (eg. 2019/2018 and K - 4th grade.)
The format of our 2012 Summer League sessions will be similar to our approach last summer. Each session will be two hours long. The first hour will be station work devoted to individual player skill development. The second hour will be a full field game with coaches on the field helping players develop their lacrosse IQ.
Divisions for our summer league sessions are defined by a player's year of graduation from high school and whether or night he played primarily Varsity or Junior Varsity for his high school team during the regular spring season. As a general guidline a player should have played in at least half of his Varsity team's games to be eligiblle for our 2014/2013 Elite division.
We will move certain players up or down based on what we see on the field. We want to make sure our players are slotted appropriately to ensure they have the best opportunity to develop to their full potential as lacrosse players.
Force 2012 Summer League schedule (5/21 - 6/29):
2013/2014 (Varsity players only) Mon and Wed 8:00 - 10pm
(starting Mon 5/21, ending Wed 6/27)
2014/2015 Tues and Thurs 8:00 - 10:00pm
(starting Tues 5/22, ending Wed 6/27)
2017/2016 Tues and Thurs 6:00 - 8:00pm
(starting Tues 5/22, ending Thurs 6/28)
2019/2018 Mon and Wed 6:00 - 8:00pm
(starting Mon 5/21, ending Wed 6/27)
K - 4th Grade Mon and Wed 6:00 - 8:00pm
(starting Mon 5/21, ending Wed 6/27)
2019 - 2013 (5th grade and older) Sat 7:00 - 8:30am
(starting Sat 5/26, ending Sat 6/29)
We will again have Saturday morning skill specific clinics from open to all players from 5th grade through high school. These clinics will be focused on specific skills such as shooting, facing off, and checking/footwork.
Online registration for the Force Lacrosse Club 2012 Summer program will open shortly.

| Force Lacrosse U15s make National Championship Quarterfinals | | |
posted 07/25/2011 Force Lacrosse U15s make 2011 USL National Championship Quarterfinals
Force Lacrosse Club U15s went on a 3-0 run to start the US Lacrosse U15 National Championship in Orlando. FL this past weekend with wins against Dukes (Philly), Jacksonville (FL) and True Lacrosse (Chicago).
Force earned the #4 seed out of 27 teams heading into the championship bracket where they fell 7-3 in the Quarterfinals to eventual tournament champions FLG (Long Island, NY).
Force was trailing FLG 4-3 at halftime and had two textbook transition goals taken away during the second half due to calls that could have gone either way. This included a goal early in the third quarter that would have tied the game at 4.
This game was hard fought by both teams from beginning to end. FLG was a talented and well coached team who deserved the National Championship, especially after losing in the championship game the previous two years.
The Force U15 team was comprised exclusively of rising freshman and rising sophomore AYLL players who did not turn 15 years old prior to 1/1/11. Everyone involved in Arizona Lacrosse should be proud of these young men for competing toe to toe with the best U15 lacrosse talent in the United States.
Compliments to US Lacrosse for providing an extraordinary opportunity and event for every U15 team and player who participated this past weekend.

Force Lacrosse U16s win the High School division of Denver Shootout and make semi-finals of Rutgers MVP.
After losing their first game in pool play at the 2011 Denver Shootout, Force Lacrosse Club U16s went on a 5-0 run to win the High School division of the 2011 Denver Shootout. All games were against high school varsity competition.
The Force U16 team was comprised of 17 rising sophomores, 3 rising Juniors who did not turn 16 prior to 1/1/11, and 1 rising freshman. All play in the AYLL.
This team was the first Arizona team to win a title at the Denver Shootout and they were the only non-Colorado team to win a division at this summer's event.
Force U16s then traveled to Rutgers MVP, one of the most competitive tournaments in the country. After starting 2 - 2, the U16 kids beat Trilogy NJ to make the MVP semi-finals where they lost a hard fought game to Mesa Fresh. Inside Lacrosse Magazine ranked Mesa Fresh as the number one out of season club lacrosse program in the U.S.
Over half of the Force U16 roster also played for the Force U15 team that made it to the quarterfinals of the US Lacrosse 2011 U15 National Championship held recently at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando FL.
